Fyxt RPG Character Archetype: Combatant
Combatants are the Fyxt RPG system’s physically-based characters. In Dungeons & Dragons these would be your fighters, monks, rangers, and paladins. One of the many great things about the Fyxt RPG system is that players don’t have to narrow their choice into a “micro class”. In other words, you don’t have to choose between “soldier” and “barbarian”. Fyxt RPG players just pick Combatant as their overall Archetype, then are free to shape their character any way they want.
Combatant characters in the Fyxt RPG cover a very wide range of possible characters, such as:
- Sumo Wrestler
- Martial Arts Expert
The Combatant can also be a combination of these ideas. In the Fyxt RPG, players are not stuck with a narrow vision of a character. Players can be part ranger, part soldier, part sword expert, or part sniper. It is all up to the player to determine the specifics of their character.
What all Combatants have in common is that their Body Trait is their primary Trait. As a Combatant, players will want to make sure that their Body Trait is their highest Trait. It will be the primary Character Trait which will determine how good a character is at Combatant-related Powers and effects.
- Body grants bonuses to Combatant Attacks.
- Body grants bonuses to Combatant Damage.
- Body grants bonuses to Combatant Defenses.
Players who create Combatants will add their character level to the amount of overall damage they will cause, since this is usually the main focus of a Combatant.
If you visualize your Fyxt RPG Character as someone who is physically intimidating with a mastery of all things martial, a Combatant Archetype is what you will want to play.
