      Maintenance Update 12-15-2015 – New Specialties AddedIn this update I snuck in a bunch of new Specialties along with the maintenance changes. Check them out below, there are some fun ones!

      14 New Specialty Lines

      I have been trying to get a bunch of new Specialties into the game as the requests come in. They have been stacking up but I found some time to add them! For the most part these are new. I do some internal testing before they are released. If any issues are discovered with them please let me know so they remain balanced.

      Many are replacing and enhancing the current Power Duration Specialty (Duration Increase). This particular Specialty proved to be too strong in it’s current form. Therefore I have broken it out into a group of Specialties that target specific Power Effects as well as the duration and strength of the extension.

      These are designed very similar to the Leadership line of Specialties. Where the base Leadership Specialty is taken then additional Specialties can be taken to enhance the Leadership.

      All of these Specialties are advanced optional Specialties due to the active nature used during a game. These are not auto calculated on the character sheet. Instead, they are listed under Active Abilities.

      The basic formula for this breakout is as follows.

      Power Effect Duration Increase: This Specialty increases the Duration of 1 effect of the Power by 1. Each step Minor thru Superior increases the Duration.
      Specialties to increase strength of effect. Each step Minor thru Superior increases the strength of the effect above 1. (Maximum of +6 at Superior)
      Specialties to include more Effect above the 1 included with the base Specialty.
      Example

      Power: -4 to Defenses, Attack, and Speed for 3 Rounds.

      Specialty: Lesser Penalty Power Duration Increase: Grants this Power 3 additional rounds of effectiveness for 1 penalty effect from the Power. The extended round penalty will be reduced to 1 instead of 4. I could choose to extend the Defense Penalty but not the Attack or Speed penalty.

      By adding the Specialty: Lesser Extended Penalty Increase: Grants the ability to increase the extended penalty to 3 instead of 1. The penalty cannot increase beyond the original Power effect’s penalty number. The extended round penalty will now be 3 instead of 1 for the two additional rounds.

      By adding the Specialty: Lesser Increased Extended Penalty Effects: Grants the ability to increase the amount of effects affected by 2. This now allows the Attack and Speed penalty to be included in the extended power penalty effects.

      In summary, if the Power listed above is modified by these three Specialties the final bonus effect will be an additional 3 rounds of a 3 penalty to Defense, Attack, and Speed. So for the first 3 rounds (duration of the Power) the targets will be -4 to Defense, Attack, and Speed. Then for the next 3 rounds (duration of the Specialty boosts) the target will be -3 Defense, Attack, and Speed.

      New Advanced Specialties

      Healing Power Duration Increase

      Powers with a Duration of 2 or greater last (1-5) more round doing 10% of the original Healing. No other effects are extended.

      Damaging Power Duration Increase

      Powers with a Duration of 2 or greater last (1-5) more rounds doing 10% of the original Damage. No other effects are extended.

      Extended Healing Increase

      Powers that are extended with Healing Power Duration Increase Specialty heal for (20%-60%) of the original Healing.

      Extended Damage Increase

      Powers that are extended with Damage Power Duration Increase Specialty do (20%-60%) of the original Damage.

      Bonus Power Duration Increase

      Powers with a Duration of 2 or greater last (1-5) more rounds granting a Bonus of 1 from the effect. No other effects are extended.

      Penalty Power Duration Increase

      Powers with a Duration of 2 or greater last (1-5) more rounds granting a Penalty of 1 from one effect. No other effects are extended.

      Minor Extended Bonus Increase

      Powers that are extended with Bonus Power Duration Increase have the effect increased to (2-6).

      Extended Penalty Increase

      Powers that are extended with Penalty Power Duration Increase have the effect increased to (2-6).

      Increased Extended Bonus Effects

      Powers that are extended with Bonus Power Duration Increase may add (1-5) effects that are extended.

      Increased Extended Penalty Effects

      Powers that are extended with Penalty Power Duration Increase may add (1-5) effects that are extended.

      Resist Forced Move

      Powers that force you to Move are reduced by (1-5).

      Enhanced Battle Teleport

      Powers that allow you to Teleport are increased by (1-5) Spaces.

      Healing Leader

      Add (+1 thru +20) to Healing to an ally next to you.

      Critical Heal

      Add (5-80) extra healing to a Critical Heal.

      Enhanced Move

      Powers that allow you to Move are increased by (1-5) Spaces.

      Fixed

      • Alert box warning when trying to equip a disposable item has been corrected.

       

      • Added additional explanation in edit Specialty Area to help manage and change Specialties.

       

      • Many CSS tweaks to the new theme to optimize it for both mobile and desktop.
